Lyndon SGB’s Manchester Town Hall access and scaffolding has been awarded BrandSafway´s International Division ‘Project of the Year.’

This accolade was awarded in a huge online Zoom meeting and awards ceremony earlier this week, featuring hundreds of members of staff from within the International Division, which was headed up by Brandsafway President, Gabriel McGabe.

Speaking about winning the award, Lyndon SGB Managing Director, Stuart Robinson said: “Manchester Town Hall is without doubt our signature project for the business right now and it is quite rightly attracting lots of positive attention for Lyndon SGB and Taylor’s Hoists – from the media, the NASC (where it was runner up as Project of the Year’ £5M+ category) and now this recognition from within the BrandSafway group. And based on the vast scale and quality of jobs the group is responsible for, this is high praise indeed.”

Lyndon SGB Regional Manager, Jon Cooke said: “It is such a great pleasure that I can tell the whole team who have worked on the Our Town Hall project that we won project of the year. It’s a huge achievement for everybody involved within the Manchester branch and wider Lyndon SGB business. This project has been a massive team effort by all and something we should all be proud of – this includes Manchester City Council, Mace, Lend Lease and all of the supply chain.

“We first started dialogue in March 2018 and since then #OurTownHall has become a labour of love and a project that Lyndon SGB is so proud to be associated with. I personally have not worked on a project that has worked so collaboratively; from the ultimate client right through to the end of the supply chain. I wish to thank all those involved for all their expertise, dedication, help and support. Keep up the good work.”

Taylor’s Hoists Managing Director and Head of Lyndon SGB Mechanical Access Division, Paul Price added: “The mechanical access division are thrilled to hear #OTH has won BrandSafway’s ‘Project of the Year’ award (International Division). Working on this epic project at Manchester Town Hall is so prestigious and it’s an honour to be working with great clients in LendLease and Mace. Our collaboration with them – and with the Lyndon SGB scaffold division’s gargantuan access effort – is a shining example of the ‘hybrid access solutions’ we are able to offer the UK construction elite.

“Working directly with our scaffolding teams enabled the client to leave the access management to us, which has been superbly efficient for both parties. Thanks go to the whole team – scaffolding and hoists, with a special word to the design team, who’s work finding safe and efficient solutions on a highly complex job is second to none. It’s been so fantastic working on this iconic heritage building – setting new standards in access provision and breaking boundaries with hoists; with there being no physical hoist ties to the Grade I-listed building. What an honour to be part of this project and to obtain this award from BrandSafway.”
