Course Duration: 5 Days

Aim and Objectives: This BASE course is to provide CISRS accredited training for non-scaffolders who erect, alter and dismantle simple and routine scaffolding structures using specific modular system scaffolding.  The aim of this scheme is to provide operatives with limited skills and knowledge for safe use in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions within restricted conditions and environments.

The structures must not exceed a height of 6M and must not be in an environment with a general public interface.

Please Note: A BASE erector is not a qualified scaffolder and as such is prohibited from carrying out any scaffolding operations outside the limitations of their training.

At the end of the course candidates should be able to:

  • Identify and select The System Scaffold components
  • Erect, alter and dismantle in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions

Course Content:

  • Introduction and welcome
  • Course scope, aims and objectives
  • Health and safety
  • Introduction to the System Scaffold and their safe systems of work
  • System Scaffold basic component range and basic erection procedures
  • System Scaffold tower
  • System Independent Scaffold
  • System loading tower
  • System birdcage
  • Question paper

The successful achievement of the above training objectives will be demonstrated using the following assessment methods:

  • Theory test to assess trainees comprehension of course
  • Practical ability assessments

Training Location Options: Nationwide

Certification: Certificates are included in the cost of this course and are produced by BEIS Ltd. They will be forwarded to the customer once payment has been received in full.

Equipment: You will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during the practical aspects of your course. You will be required to bring with you your own hard hat, safety boots, high visibility vest and tools, Eye Protection (for Brand Sites) 1 x scaffold spanner, 1 x 22mm spanner, 1 x belt and frog, 1 x spirit level. 1 x tape measure, a hammer, a harness and lanyard incorporating Fall Arrest capabilities*

Number of Candidates per Course: A minimum of 4, maximum of 9
